II Chronicles 21 (kjv)

21

Now JehoshaphatH3092 sleptH7901 with his fathersH1, and was buriedH6912 with his fathersH1 in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732. And JehoramH3088 his sonH1121 reignedH4427 in his stead.2And he had brethrenH251 the sonsH1121 of JehoshaphatH3092, AzariahH5838, and JehielH3171, and ZechariahH2148, and AzariahH5838, and MichaelH4317, and ShephatiahH8203: all these were the sonsH1121 of JehoshaphatH3092 kingH4428 of IsraelH3478.3And their fatherH1 gaveH5414 them greatH7227 giftsH4979 of silverH3701, and of goldH2091, and of precious thingsH4030, with fencedH4694 citiesH5892 in JudahH3063: but the kingdomH4467 gaveH5414 he to JehoramH3088; because he was the firstbornH1060.4Now when JehoramH3088 was risen upH6965 to the kingdomH4467 of his fatherH1, he strengthenedH2388 himself, and slewH2026 all his brethrenH251 with the swordH2719, and divers also of the princesH8269 of IsraelH3478.

5JehoramH3088 was thirtyH7970 and twoH8147 yearsH8141 oldH1121 when he began to reignH4427, and he reignedH4427 eightH8083 yearsH8141 in JerusalemH3389.6And he walkedH3212 in the wayH1870 of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478, like as didH6213 the houseH1004 of AhabH256: for he had the daughterH1323 of AhabH256 to wifeH802: and he wroughtH6213 that which was evilH7451 in the eyesH5869 of the LORDH3068.7Howbeit the LORDH3068 wouldH14 not destroyH7843 the houseH1004 of DavidH1732, because of the covenantH1285 that he had madeH3772 with DavidH1732, and as he promisedH559 to giveH5414 a lightH5216 to him and to his sonsH1121 for everH3117.

8In his daysH3117 the EdomitesH123 revoltedH6586 from under the dominionH3027 of JudahH3063, and madeH4427 themselves a kingH4428.9Then JehoramH3088 went forthH5674 with his princesH8269, and all his chariotsH7393 with him: and he rose upH6965 by nightH3915, and smoteH5221 the EdomitesH123 which compassed him inH5437, and the captainsH8269 of the chariotsH7393.10So the EdomitesH123 revoltedH6586 from under the handH3027 of JudahH3063 unto this dayH3117. The same timeH6256 also did LibnahH3841 revoltH6586 from under his handH3027; because he had forsakenH5800 the LORDH3068 GodH430 of his fathersH1.11Moreover he madeH6213 high placesH1116 in the mountainsH2022 of JudahH3063, and caused the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389 to commit fornicationH2181, and compelledH5080 JudahH3063 thereto.

12And there cameH935 a writingH4385 to him from ElijahH452 the prophetH5030, sayingH559, Thus saithH559 the LORDH3068 GodH430 of DavidH1732 thy fatherH1, Because thou hast not walkedH1980 in the waysH1870 of JehoshaphatH3092 thy fatherH1, nor in the waysH1870 of AsaH609 kingH4428 of JudahH3063,13But hast walkedH3212 in the wayH1870 of the kingsH4428 of IsraelH3478, and hast made JudahH3063 and the inhabitantsH3427 of JerusalemH3389 to go a whoringH2181, like to the whoredomsH2181 of the houseH1004 of AhabH256, and also hast slainH2026 thy brethrenH251 of thy father'sH1 houseH1004, which were betterH2896 than thyself:14Behold, with a greatH1419 plagueH4046 will the LORDH3068 smiteH5062 thy peopleH5971, and thy childrenH1121, and thy wivesH802, and all thy goodsH7399:15And thou shalt have greatH7227 sicknessH2483 by diseaseH4245 of thy bowelsH4578, until thy bowelsH4578 fall outH3318 by reason of the sicknessH2483 dayH3117 by dayH3117.

16Moreover the LORDH3068 stirred upH5782 against JehoramH3088 the spiritH7307 of the PhilistinesH6430, and of the ArabiansH6163, that were nearH5921 H3027 the EthiopiansH3569:17And they came upH5927 into JudahH3063, and brakeH1234 into it, and carried awayH7617 all the substanceH7399 that was foundH4672 in the king'sH4428 houseH1004, and his sonsH1121 also, and his wivesH802; so that there was never a sonH1121 leftH7604 him, save JehoahazH3059, the youngestH6996 of his sonsH1121.

18And afterH310 all this the LORDH3068 smoteH5062 him in his bowelsH4578 with an incurableH369 H4832 diseaseH2483.19And it came to pass, that in process of timeH3117, afterH3318 H6256 the endH7093 of twoH8147 yearsH3117, his bowelsH4578 fell outH3318 by reasonH5973 of his sicknessH2483: so he diedH4191 of soreH7451 diseasesH8463. And his peopleH5971 madeH6213 no burningH8316 for him, like the burningH8316 of his fathersH1.20ThirtyH7970 and twoH8147 years oldH1121 was he when he began to reignH4427, and he reignedH4427 in JerusalemH3389 eightH8083 yearsH8141, and departedH3212 without being desiredH2532. Howbeit they buriedH6912 him in the cityH5892 of DavidH1732, but not in the sepulchresH6913 of the kingsH4428.
